Privacy policy
Status: September 2026 · The German version is legally binding.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
DoorTec Deutschland GmbH
Neustraße 9, D-48683 Ahaus
Telephone: +49 (0) 2561 968079-10
E-mail: info@doortec.online
Managing directors: Johannes Witte / Oliver Buschkamp
We have not appointed a data protection officer, as in our assessment the legal requirements for this are not met. (Please check before publication – where more than 20 people are permanently engaged in automated processing, appointment is mandatory under Section 38 BDSG.)
2. Principles
We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website together with our content and services. Processing is regularly based on a statutory permission (Art. 6 GDPR) or on your consent.
This website deliberately does without advertising tracking, profiling, social media plug-ins and embedded third-party content.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by an external service provider (STRATO AG, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany). The host processes the data generated when the website is accessed on our behalf. A data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.
Each time a page is accessed, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in what are known as server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- name and URL of the file retrieved
- volume of data transferred and notification of whether retrieval was successful
- referrer URL (previously visited page)
- browser type, browser version and operating system
Purpose: ensuring a smooth connection, convenient use, evaluation of system security and stability, and administrative purposes.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically flawless presentation and security of this website.
Storage period: as a rule no more than 7 days, unless security-relevant incidents require longer retention.
4. Cookies and local storage
This website does not use any cookies for analysis, marketing or tracking purposes. No data is transmitted to advertising networks, analytics services or social networks.
We use only your browser's local storage (localStorage) to make the website usable for you. These entries are stored solely on your device and are never transmitted to our server:
| Name | Purpose | Storage period |
|---|---|---|
dt_lang | Remembers the language you have selected (German, English, Dutch, French, Czech, Spanish, Italian, Polish) so that you do not have to set it again every time you open a page. | until you clear your browser storage |
dt_cart_v1 | Stores the enquiry list you have compiled (item, version, quantity) so that it is retained when you move between pages. | until you empty the list or clear your browser storage |
dt_notice_ack | Remembers that you have taken note of the privacy notice so that it does not appear again. | until you clear your browser storage |
Legal basis: storing this information is strictly necessary for the function you have expressly requested and is therefore permitted without consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. The subsequent processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning, convenient website).
You can delete these entries yourself at any time: via your browser settings ("delete website data") or – in the case of the enquiry list – via the Empty list button in the shop.
To be added as soon as further services are integrated: if maps (e.g. Google Maps), videos (e.g. YouTube), web fonts from external servers, an analytics tool or a chat are integrated in future, a consent banner with a genuine choice ("reject" of equal standing to "accept") will be required and this section must be extended accordingly.
5. Contact form and enquiry list
If you contact us via the contact form or the enquiry form in the shop, we process the data you enter: company, name, e-mail address, optionally telephone number, subject, message and – in the shop – the items you have compiled.
Purpose: processing your enquiry and preparing a quotation.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, in so far as your enquiry is aimed at concluding or performing a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
Recipients: the data is transmitted by e-mail to our mailbox and processed there.
Storage period: until your enquiry has been finally dealt with; if a contract is concluded, the retention periods under commercial and tax law apply (as a rule 6 or 10 years).
Providing the data marked as mandatory is necessary so that we can process your enquiry and reply to you. Any further details are provided voluntarily.
Technical implementation: the forms are processed by our own script on the server of our host (see section 3) and sent as an e-mail to info@doortec.online. We do not use external form services or a captcha.
Protection against misuse: the forms contain a field that is invisible to people and check how quickly they were filled in. To prevent automated mass enquiries, we also store a non-reversible hash value of your IP address together with the time of the enquiry for a maximum of one hour; more than five enquiries per hour from the same connection are rejected. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in protection against spam and misuse.
6. Contacting us by e-mail, telephone or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all personal data arising from it will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. We point out that the transmission of data by unencrypted e-mail may have security gaps.
The "copy e-mail address" function offered on this website copies the address solely to the clipboard of your own device. No data is transmitted to us in the process.
7. Downloads
On the product page we provide dimension drawings and installation manuals as PDF files. These files are retrieved from the same server as the rest of the website; only the server log files described in section 3 are generated in the process. No registration or provision of personal data is required for downloading.
8. Recipients and transfer to third countries
Your data will only be passed on to third parties where this is necessary for the performance of a contract (e.g. to shipping service providers), where we are legally obliged to do so, or where you have consented. Processors (in particular our host) are contractually bound in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
No personal data is transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA within the scope of this website.
9. Storage period
Unless otherwise stated in this policy, we store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations. The data is then deleted or anonymised.
10. Your rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to the personal data concerning you:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent given with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR: in so far as we process your data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
An informal message to info@doortec.online is sufficient to exercise your rights.
11. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority
Without prejudice to any other legal remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
The authority responsible for us is:
State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia
Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany
12. Changes to this privacy policy
We adapt this privacy policy as soon as changes to the data processing we carry out make this necessary. The version available on this page applies in each case.
